Trust the LORD with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding. VERSELET®

When I think I know what’s best or think I know the path forward, God gently reminds me that I really have no clue. His ways are higher than I dare to comprehend, and my human ways are laughably lower.

But it’s easy to get stuck in this pattern, stuck in the mindset that what we can see with our eyes is all that’s going on, and that this world is all there is.

But the reality is that there is a whole other infinitely greater reality, and all of creation is pointing to it. A kingdom that oftentimes doesn’t make sense to our human understanding.

A place where we are called to love our enemies, where the humble are exalted, and where death leads to life.

Because our own understanding is limited, we must trust in the LORD. “Trust” translates to “cling to” or “be confident.” As we cling to His ways and not our own, he makes our steps firm and upholds us as we walk. (Psalm 37:23–24)

Lord, increase our trust and our joy, our confidence in the goodness of who you are. Please widen our perspective to see a bigger picture, a greater reality. Even when we don’t understand the why, help us to trust in who You are and the great love that You have for us. Amen.
