Other translations say to “dwell” on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Dwelling on Him means believing His words, allowing Truth to change the way we think about some things and as a result, becoming more like Him.

Like making a cup of tea, the tea bag must sit in the hot water in order for the
goodness of the flavors to infuse into the water. This is how we are changed by the Holy Spirit: we must make room for these good things to come into our minds, dwell on them, and allow the essence of them to infuse and change some things in us.

Taking Christ in and choosing to live in His kingdom now, leaves little room for us to seek the glory of our own little kingdoms.

Christ is above all, and His words are sweeter than honey (Psalm 119:103). We delight in His word, meditating on it day and night, and as a result He says we are blessed (Psalm 1:2).

Let us fix our minds on Christ, the ultimate Truth, knowing that because of Him, our deepest fear, even death itself, bows down to the sound of His holy name.
